Timeless, elegant, and romantic are the three words we would use to describe Kristen and Kyle’s wedding at Zuka’s Hilltop Barn. The high school sweethearts tied the knot on a warm summer afternoon. The navy, blush, and champagne color scheme was so pretty. Kristen even wore a pink wedding dress! Their outdoor wedding ceremony was gorgeous in front of the mountains and big sky, surrounded by all their family and friends.
The joy was clear on their faces as they got ready to say “I do.” Kristen gave Kyle a watch to match his wedding day shoes, and Kyle gave his bride perfume to wear on their wedding day. Kristen sealed her note to Kyle with a kiss, and addressed it to “Babe.” I love that Kyle’s note was addressed to “My America’s Next Top Model.” It made Kristen laugh and cry happy tears to read his inside joke and heartfelt letter. If that’s not love…
One of our favorite things to photograph is a first look, when the bride and groom see each other privately before the ceremony. A first look with balloons was such a cute idea that Kristen found, making us swoon. The sweeping skyline of rolling hills was the perfect backdrop for twirls, dips, and kisses! Afterwards, we also did all their family formals and bridal party so after the ceremony we had time for just the newlyweds (which is a BRILLIANT idea, if we do so say ourselves). Their large bridal party were so easy to work with, and truly kept the nervously excited couple happy and calm throughout the day. Up for just about anything, they climbed on the rock wall for an awesome portrait.
They used their engagement photos to decorate their cocktail hour, which is always awesome to see as the people who took them! Kristen DIYed the placard easels out of paper straws, making them into mini easels. She also printed a list of tips from her students on marriage as a menu at the tables, making for good conversation and laughs among guests. Emotional speeches from both the bride and groom’s dads, then hilarious ones from best man and maids of honor kicked off the reception under the tent at Zukas. Kristen and Kyle visited every guest and danced until the very end of the evening. Kristen’s pink wedding dress looked stunning as she twirled on the checkered dance floor.
Every once in a while, in the middle of ordinary life, love gives you a fairytale. Congratulations to the new Mr. + Mrs. Jacobson!!
