Melissa and Shane wanted their wedding to have a casual Cape Cod vibe, and they definitely achieved that with cranberry centerpieces and a sandbox for placards. The entire bridal party was barefoot for the ceremony on the beach, and despite the cold breeze everyone was warmed by the expression of the couple’s love. I love that Melissa’s dress was made from the one her mom wore on her wedding day. Shane couldn’t keep from being emotional throughout the ceremony; he was just so excited to be marrying the love of his life. They met while Melissa was vacationing in Virginia, and Shane made the move up North just to be with her, because he knew that she was the one. A true love story!
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds snuggled on the beach in some stunning light – a photographer’s dream. The couple drove off in Melissa’s dad’s Corvette to their reception at the Dennis Inn.. The toasts made to the couple by family and friends gave lots of laughs and tears, and really captured the spirit of the day. As everyone danced the night away, we made friends with an awesome pastry chef couple from The Chocolate Rose who designed the unique cake for this wedding.
There was just such a wonderful feeling of family and friendship woven throughout every aspect of this wedding, and the sense of happiness was palpable. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Young! We had a blast documenting your casual beach wedding, and wish we could do it all over again!
