Sarah and Josh were on a date while in college in downtown Bristol, RI when they heard music from the Linden Place mansion. They sneakily watched the bride and groom dance through the open ballroom doorway and thought it was gorgeous, like seeing a Great Gatsby party. Fast forward to when Josh popped the question in early December, and the couple simply knew they wanted to be dancing their own first dance at Linden Place. Swoon!
Their June wedding day was sunny and beautiful, just perfect for saying “I do” in the garden. Josh and his father built the arbor under which the couple got married. Sarah’s aunt was their officiant, and Sarah and Josh literally tied the knot in front of family and friends, using sailor’s rope they found on the beach.
Bristol was an important town where their relationship grew, so they really wanted their guests to enjoy the area. They included Dell’s lemonade and Rhode Island craft beers at their cocktail hour. We even took a photo with the iconic red, white, and blue stripe on Hope Street.
The day’s natural vintage boho feel was accomplished by some DIY details and the stunning flowers by Studio 539. The mauve and stone blue color scheme was such a pretty combination! Sarah wrote the table number and place card geode slices for every guest. Instead of cake, they opted for cookies and milk. The newlyweds were toasted by the best man and maid of honor, then boogied the night away to the fabulous music of the Silver Arrow Band. A unique feature of Linden Place is that the ballroom has large doors that open to let guests dance under the stars. The perfect end to a perfect day.
Sarah and Josh are an awesome couple: down-to-earth and totally in love. We enjoyed being a part of this amazing wedding day, and wish them all the best. Congratulations to the new Mr. + Mrs. Patterson!
