This summer wedding at Stevens Estate was so lovely to photograph, mostly because of how wonderful Nicole and Patrick are together. These two sweethearts met in college, and were always friends, though their romance began about a year ago. The one word they use to describe their relationship is best friends. These dog-lovers incorporated their pooch Olive in their Boston engagement photos, but also used a photo cut out of her face to bring her into their wedding day! Nicole and Patrick opted for a first look which gave them time for some snuggles before their ceremony. We love when couples choose this option as it makes portrait time more relaxed, and allows us to capture such a special moment of the groom seeing his bride for the first time.
The newlyweds said “I do” during an emotional and beautiful ceremony on the lawn behind the estate as the sun was setting. There were many happy tears throughout as the couple professed their love with self-written vows. Their family and friends welcomed us like we had always been a part of their lives. We loved how they kept grabbing us for photos throughout the day! This is one of my favorite first dances we have photographed all year. The light was simply perfect and you can feel the love between them. The reception was a great celebration, with everyone dancing and laughing throughout the evening. We managed to avoid the temptation of the cookie sandwich ice cream station before we left (with extreme will-power).
Nicole and Patrick’s wedding was truly timeless, genuine, and joyful. We were so happy to be a part of it. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Murphy!
