Doug’s instant reaction to meeting Jannelle was “She’s my missing puzzle piece.” He has been writing his vows for 2 and half years now, and he shared them with Jannelle on a sunny May day at Shining Tides in Mattapoisett, MA. The couple had a vintage chic theme focused on the beach views that they enjoy. Jannelle and Doug had a special first look at Onset Bay with their family and friends cheering behind them.
Shining Tides is a great venue for a beach wedding, and the newly Mr. and Mrs. shared their first kiss as husband and wife by the sea. Delia was an integral part of the ceremony, helping with the ceremony and having Dad read vows that she wrote for her parents. They included a sand ceremony to visually show the combining of all their lives together.
Jannelle DIYed many of their details, and they were amazing! They had gorgeous clamshell centerpieces, customized napkins and table numbers, and air plant favors. The decor was stunning! The steel blue dresses and gray suits of the wedding party were subtly nautical. Since Jannelle’s father was attending the wedding from heaven, she opted for a lantern release during parent dances. It was a sweetly personal reminder of the loved ones that were there in spirit, as was the remembrance table that Jannelle designed herself.
The newlyweds joined us out on the dock at sunset for some fantastic portraits. We love when our couples are willing to let us get creative and take photos when the light is magical. We simply adored Jannelle’s crafted balloons for her ring bearers, and of course included them in as many photos as possible.
We were so happy to photograph this beautiful wedding. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Bowles!! We wish you and your new family many years of happiness together!
