Michelle and Matt picked the Hyatt Regency at Boston Harbor to celebrate their marriage for many reasons, but mainly for the city views along the water. “Boston really is home for both of us. It is the perfect place.” The couple incorporated the skyline into their invitations, and brought along a Boston Globe from their wedding day for ring photos (love)! Just about everything was personalized in their wedding. The bouquets were made by Michelle’s uncle, the ceremony officiated by Matt’s close family friend, Michelle’s jewelry old and borrowed from her grandmother, photos of their parents and grandparents decorated the reception room, and the wedding favors were M&M’s (for Michelle and Matt, of course) in purples and greens. Their September wedding day was simply wonderful.
Michelle got dressed among her bridesmaids in the gorgeous hotel room overlooking the skyline (see the theme here?). She had even her photographer in tears as her mom helped her into her stunning gown and shoes. An emotional first look with Matt by the nautical sculpture gave us an opportunity for some pretty portraits of the couple before being joined by family and friends. Michelle and Matt wrote their own vows, and said “I do” right by the water. We loved their little ring bearers in their wagon. The flower girl Avalynn got a bit confused on which way to go as she entered, much to the laughter and joy of all.
The newlyweds performed an amazing choreographed first dance circled by guests on the dance floor. DJ and emcee Ron Carpenito kept the day moving naturally, and the dance floor hopping all night. Michelle and Matt were out there boogying and celebrating with all their guests. Such a fun evening! Michelle decided to hand her bouquet to the next family member to get married instead of a toss. We love this twist on the tradition! It made the moment more personal and meaningful as for Michelle and her future sister-in-law.
“Are you feeling adventurous?” is what Matt asked Michelle as he dropped to one knee to propose, and we wish them well on their lifetime of adventures together. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. McAdams!
