Marblehead Engagement : Corey Loves Michelle

When I asked where they wanted to meet for their engagement session, Michelle and Corey answered “We’ve spent many weekends walking through downtown Marblehead and by the lighthouse – it’s just beautiful! Corey’s father also grew up in this area, so it’s particularly special to Corey and his family.” I simply love when couples bring us places that have meaning to them… especially when the locations are as gorgeous as this! We explored Crocker Park and then traveled over to Castle Rock for a stunning sunset {swoon} With cliffs by the ocean, it was such a romantic spot to snuggle and laugh the evening away.

We are so excited to celebrate with these sweethearts at their June wedding at Pinehills! Cheers, Michelle & Corey!!

Cheers to a Fabulous 2018

We have been looking back on 2018 as the year comes to a close, and we realize how lucky we are to love what we do and have amazing couples to work with! Here is a review of all that happened for Jason and I this year:

  • We second shot a gorgeous wedding with the wonderful Leah Haydock
  • We photographed our first-ever styled session, planned by the always-amazing Emma Breen Events
  • Jason and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary together
  • We took maternity photos with a past AMP couple in the same place as their engagement session – so special!
  • We photographed a proposal for the first time (and hopefully not last!)
  • We were published on Glittery Bride, Zola, Wedding Boston, & WeddingLovely
  • We photographed 2 weddings with the same family! Doug married Maddie this past spring, and his sister Christina married Matt this past fall.
  • We traveled the furthest (so far) for a wedding – Montana y’all!

Most Asked Wedding Timeline Questions

There are so many wonderful wedding planning resources. Personally, we love The Knot as our go-to for wedding planning! However, do you still have wedding timeline questions? Of course you do! Weddings are never one-size-fits-all, and it can be really hard to coordinate with all your vendors. No worries, we got you boo. We have compiled frequently asked questions from our couples in relation to planning their wedding day schedule, and provided our best answers here.

How long for getting ready photos before the ceremony?

We suggest to have us arrive at least 2-3  hours before your ceremony (earlier if you are having a first look). Jason and I will arrive together to your getting ready location. I will take candids of you and the ladies finishing hair & makeup while Jason will take all those beautiful detail photos. After about an hour, Jason will leave to cover the groom and groomsmen getting ready, and that’s when you’ll start getting dressed. Bridesmaids and mom should all be ready first, then they can help you into your gown.

When should we be ready for photos by, and how much time should we set aside?

You should be ready for photos about 30 minutes before you want to leave for your ceremony. That gives us time to get some solo portraits, you with your mom, etc as well as a buffer in your timeline in case things start running behind. Best part, if you are done early you can just take a breather and toast some champagne before walking down the aisle!

What is an ideal timeline for a first look?

You should be having your first look about an hour/hour and a half before your ceremony. How important is it that none of your guests see you ahead of time? If it is super important, you should opt for an hour and a half so we have time for photos but also time to squirrel you away someplace away from your ceremony location. Typically, Jason will bring the groom out first then you can walk up to meet him, but we are open to any creative ideas you might be thinking. If you are not having wedding party and family join you, this will be a good time to walk around a bit and explore the grounds for portraits too – kind of like your engagement session.

How much time should I plan for family formals?

We typically estimate about 3 minutes per grouping, as it takes time to get everyone in position and looking in the right direction. On average, this portion of the day takes about 30 minutes. We suggest that our couples put someone in charge of making sure your family is where they need to be for photos. This should be someone that isn’t in the photos but knows your family. This way, we can be taking other photos with you two while someone else goes to find Uncle Bob at cocktail hour. 😉

How late do you normally stay at the reception?

Unless you are doing a special exit or dance at the very end of your reception, a good estimate is to have us leave one hour before the end of your reception. We only book one wedding per day, so we recommend our couples have us start earlier because they can always add-on time at the end of the day!

Still have questions? We will have a pre-wedding meeting a few weeks before your wedding day to go over all the details specific to your day, but feel free to reach out at any point in the planning process if you need any help!

Popponesset Beach Wedding : Erin Loves Michael

We are so excited to share this classic Cape Cod wedding day with you all!! Erin & Michael were sweet together, casting loving glances toward each other all day long. Their Popponesset wedding day was full of special moments; it was absolutely picture perfect. Erin grew up in the area, and was a lifeguard on the very beach where they took their photos! Love when our couples bring us places that are special to them!! Their purple color scheme was beautiful on the beach, and we totally loved her flowers by Verde Floral Design. From Erin’s shoes, to the invites, to the stunning back of her dress, everything was oh-so very pretty and swoon-worthy.

Cheers to the newlyweds, Erin & Michael! Wishing you all the best!!

Bradley Estate Engagement : Don Loves Samantha

Bradley Estate in Canton, MA is such a perfect backdrop for romantic portraits, and Samantha & Don were the perfect couple to meet me here! This is one of the best places to photograph (see our top 7 locations here) and being there with these cuties made it even better. My favorite part of their session was when they danced together to their future first dance song. Looking forward to seeing them dance together again as Mr & Mrs on wedding day!
