Buzzards Bay Engagement : Michael Loves Andrea

This summer engagement session with Andrea & Michael in Buzzard’s Bay was SO fun!! They were all smiles and laughs; I’m so lucky to have the most amazing couples!!!! They describe their perfect day as “going out, getting drinks, and eating the hell out of a cheese platter.” Yes, please! These two are my spirit animals! Michael proposed to Andrea at Christmas with a big dinner party where he spelled out “Marry Me” in front of the fireplace. I just know their wedding is going to be amazing. We can’t wait to celebrate at Shining Tides with them in August!

Linden Place Wedding : Sarah Loves Josh

Sarah and Josh were on a date while in college in downtown Bristol, RI when they heard music from the Linden Place mansion. They sneakily watched the bride and groom dance through the open ballroom doorway and thought it was gorgeous, like seeing a Great Gatsby party. Fast forward to when Josh popped the question in early December, and the couple simply knew they wanted to be dancing their own first dance at Linden Place. Swoon!

Their June wedding day was sunny and beautiful, just perfect for saying “I do” in the garden. Josh and his father built the arbor under which the couple got married. Sarah’s aunt was their officiant, and Sarah and Josh literally tied the knot in front of family and friends, using sailor’s rope they found on the beach.

Bristol was an important town where their relationship grew, so they really wanted their guests to enjoy the area. They included Dell’s lemonade and Rhode Island craft beers at their cocktail hour. We even took a photo with the iconic red, white, and blue stripe on Hope Street.

The day’s natural vintage boho feel was accomplished by some DIY details and the stunning flowers by Studio 539. The mauve and stone blue color scheme was such a pretty combination! Sarah wrote the table number and place card geode slices for every guest. Instead of cake, they opted for cookies and milk. The newlyweds were toasted by the best man and maid of honor, then boogied the night away to the fabulous music of the Silver Arrow Band. A unique feature of Linden Place is that the ballroom has large doors that open to let guests dance under the stars. The perfect end to a perfect day.

Sarah and Josh are an awesome couple: down-to-earth and totally in love. We enjoyed being a part of this amazing wedding day, and wish them all the best. Congratulations to the new Mr. + Mrs. Patterson!

Cape Cod Beach Engagement : Ian Loves Jo

When I met with Joanna and Ian at her parents’ beachside home, Joanna exclaimed “I’m so glad we are doing an engagement session here!” Some of her favorite childhood memories were spent on this beach, having a fish fry and being out on the dock. I was so glad we could get together in this special place! Plus, Joanna & Ian will be tying the knot right on this same bay this month!! Their spring engagement session in Buzzard’s Bay was quite the adventure due to it being unseasonably cold (thanks, New England). But totally worth a little windy and chilly weather – just take a look at all the pretty we created…

Father’s Day 2018

“A father doesn’t just tell you he loves you. He shows you.”

Cheers to all the dads who show their love in every hug, smile, hand shake, and a million other little acts. Happy Father’s Day!

Popponessett Inn Wedding : Renee Loves Jimmy

Renee and Jimmy’s wedding at the Popponessett Inn was a bit wet (okay, it was a tropical storm) but they totally made the best of it and rocked the day! Even in the rain, it was beautiful. Renee started the day with beach yoga at sunrise with her and her girls – um, perfect! She then enjoyed the morning getting ready for their afternoon ceremony. Renee and Jimmy said their vows overlooking the ocean under the a pretty rustic birch tree arch. Their dog Rigley even stopped by for the fun, sporting a fancy bow tie. Love! Their Cape Cod wedding featured sea salt favors and tables named after beaches on the Cape. They had a DIY seating chart made from a picket fence and seed packets, stating “Please Find Your Seed.” I am always a fan of a cute pun. Renee and Jimmy danced their first dance to “From the Ground Up” by Dan + Shea because it talks about grandparent’s influence on their lives, and the couple felt it told their love story perfectly. They boogied long into the night, even with water pouring into the sides of their tent. Nothing could dampen their fun!

We loved being a part of their wedding day, and wish the new Mr. + Mrs. Martin all the best!
